So turns out I really do like Cedar Falls. That's so annoying. Yudai, Bryan and I went up to CF to hang out with Tim this weekend and I had a blast. Tim wasn't even around until Saturday night and then he crapped out and went home early. Friday night was Lish and Mark's party. Mark leaves in like 2 weeks to go to Iraq which sucks so they had a party. We played flippy cup with Alisha's dad and Lish got quite drunk, it was silly. Oh then we went to "Club 2000" where the boys ate pickled eggs (first of all why were we at a bar that had pickled eggs?!) and we had a run-in with the law. After spending like 45 minutes with 5 jerkiest members of the Waterloo Police, we still don't know why they have dragons on their cars.
There was lots of family time. My mom made the most amazing summer meal ever (grilled chicken, cheesy potatoes, corn on the cob, tomatoes, cucumbers and black olives) but kept appologizing for not really cooking. Then we played Candyland, then Tim went home, then we went out. Bryan and Yudai wanted to test my theory, that the west side of College Hill is where the frat boys go and the east side is where the cool people go (if you switch Pour Richards and Tony's) so we went to Sud's and it sucked because it was all frat boys. We decided not to be out anymore and came home and played Mario Kart instead. But honestly, how can you not love a town where they play Dashboard at the bars?! I had to welcome Luke home from Boy Scout camp on Sunday but then went to Tim's and napped on his couch while he burned cd's in his room. Oh and I got to see Amy Baldwin at Cup of Joe and i heart her. She's moving to San Fransisco to go to grad school for poetry. She's so cool.
It was a great weekend. I'm going to get used to seeing Bryan and Yudai all the time and in like a month Yudai will be in Japan and Bryan will be in school and it'll be so sad. It's bizarre hanging out with these boys. It's so low maintenance. They're just guys. It's been a while since I've hung out with guys. As in, not boys of the artsy Christian variety. Not that I'm complaining about that variety, some of my favorite people are artsy Christian boys, I highly recommend them. But you know, grass is always greener and what not.
Yes. And AMEN, and all that.
